We have all three volumes in this set. We have so far worked our way through volume one and are thick into volume two. My kids (First and Third grade) have really enjoyed the hands-on aspect and the easy-to-understand format of these science lessons. Each book has three separate topics that are explored in depth with experiments and activities using common household items – except for the magnetism section in Volume One which required a trip to Radio Shack and a learning store. The concepts taught are quite sophisticated considering the fun and easy format. Kids are taught real science principles that can be applied to real life situations but it is done in a way that is non-threatening and keeps their interest. A few of the experiments didn’t work as planned but for the most part they came out fine.
